LR (LIGHT RIGID)

Light Rigid (LR class) heavy vehicle licenses allow you to drive vehicles with either: Gross vehicle mass (GVM) between 4,500 to 8,000 kg. Capacity for more than 12 passengers (including the driver).

MR (MEDIUM RIGID).

MR (Medium Rigid class) heavy vehicle licenses allow you to drive vehicles with 2 axles and a gross vehicle mass (GVM) greater than 8,000 kg. You will also be allowed to tow a trailer with a maximum GVM of 9,000 kg.

HR (HEAVY RIGID).

Heavy Rigid (HR class) heavy vehicle licenses allow you to drive heavy vehicles with 3 or more axles and a gross vehicle mass greater than 8,000 kg. You will also be allowed to tow a trailer with a maximum GVM of 9,000 kg.

HC (HEAVY COMBINATION).

A Heavy Combination (HC) Truck Driver is an individual who handles and drives trucks or prime movers attached to a semi-trailer or heavy rigid vehicles towing a trailer. HC Truck Drivers may work in construction, agriculture or warehousing areas.

MC (MULTI COMBINATION).

An MC (Multi Combination) is a vehicle towing more than one trailer. You must have held an HR (Heavy Rigid) or HC (Heavy Combination) license for at least 12 months to be eligible for this truck license class..
