A Brief of MR (Medium Rigid)

MR (Medium Rigid class) heavy vehicle licenses allow you to drive vehicles with 2 axles and a gross vehicle mass (GVM) greater than 8,000 kg. After having this licence you will be permitted to tow a trailer with a maximum GVM of 9,000 kg.

MR license allows you to drive a truck or bus (including a top mover or a movable crane) over 8t GVM with a max of 2 axles (1 at rear).

The MR driving licence offers good job opportunities for:

• local freight deliveries
• removalists
• car carriers
• coaches and buses

• Trucks and buses with a GVM more than eight tonnes and two axles
• Any towed trailer must not weigh more than nine tonnes GVM.
